STUDENTS may study all major liberal art disciplines and most science subjects not involving laboratory work. Courses involving laboratory work are not normally offered. Because of the flexibility of the tutorial system there is no finite list of courses which may be taken at Oxford. The choice will depend on personal preference, the need to meet specific credit requirements, and the level of proficiency already attained.
Over the past 20 years 1800 students participating on the Program have studied in depth over 500 different tutorial subjects ranging from English, Economics, History, Politics and the European Community to Egyptian Thought, Hebrew Studies, Philosophy, Classics, Latin and Greek. Not only is the tutorial system generally regarded as one of the finest and most effective methods of teaching in the world but it also offers a richness of diversity of subjects which is, quite simply, breathtaking.
